Hurricane Relief

When disaster strikes, it is local churches that provide the first response to their communities. This basic understanding—that disaster response is local—forms the foundation for UMCOR’s US disaster training and response.

When responding to a disaster in the United States, UMCOR provides the following four things:

Financial Assistance. If the bishop of the affected conference contacts UMCOR, an emergency grant may be sent.

Bishop Gary Mueller

Bishop Gary Mueller invites you to join him for a Laity Coffee

Sunday, September 24 at 3:00 p.m.

This is a special invitation to Lay Leaders, Lay Members to Annual Conference, Finance, Trustee, SPRC and Administrative Chairs and any others who might be interested to join him for a Laity Coffee.

Bishop Mueller will spend a  few minutes sharing information about vital disciples, the 2017-2018 Vital initiative that began at the 2017 Annual Conference and the Commission on The Way Forward. There will also be a time for him to hwear your questions and comments.

Fall Festival

Our Fall Festival will be Sunday, Oct. 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Yancey Hall.

Fun, Food, Games and much more! Fun for everyone!

UMCOR Responds to Hurricane Harvey

UMCOR Responds to Hurricane Harvey

Dear Friend of UMCOR,

As the waters recede from Houston and other communities affected by Hurricane Harvey’s record-breaking rainfall and flooding, UMCOR volunteers are still on the ground for the relief and recovery efforts in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

Donations already made to UMCOR have brought much care and comfort to those affected by this disaster. If you made a gift, thank you!
