UMCOR Responds to Hurricane Harvey

Dear Friend of UMCOR,

As the waters recede from Houston and other communities affected by Hurricane Harvey’s record-breaking rainfall and flooding, UMCOR volunteers are still on the ground for the relief and recovery efforts in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.

Donations already made to UMCOR have brought much care and comfort to those affected by this disaster. If you made a gift, thank you!

Arkansas Conference Response to Hurricane Harvey

Please continue to be in prayer for our neighbors in Texas and Louisiana who are in the midst of historic flooding associated with Hurricane Harvey. We pray for all those who have been affected and we commit to being Jesus’ presence in the coming days and months as we join them in the rebuilding of lives and communities.

We had a great Promotion Sunday! Thanks to everyone that attended and supported! Prayers for all our teachers and students for the 2017-2018 school year!

We will be experiencing several musical activities including playing Tonechimes and Handbells, singing, and playing percussion instruments as well as working on art projects using different mediums.                              

Snacks will be provided each day.

For kids that have completed k-5th grade.

A called session of the Charge Conference will be held on Sunday, June 11, at noon in Pyeatt Chapel. The purpose is to establish compensation for our incoming associate pastor. Only the Charge Conference has authority to set clergy compensation. This will be a one-item agenda. All members of the Church Council and Elders who hold a relationship to Searcy 1st are voting members of the Charge Conference. Any and all members of the church are welcome to attend.
