The Cornerstone Campaign is gaining momentum throughout Searcy 1st. Thank you for praying the campaign prayer, "Lord, what do You want to do through me?", a prayer we would do well to pray every day for the rest of our lives.

Cornerstone is the name chosen for our building campaign to replace the ’47 building which houses the core ministries and functions of Searcy First.

When disaster strikes around the globe—Haiti’s 2010 earthquake or Typhoon Haiyan in 2013—so many watching the drama unfold on our living room televisions feel entirely helpless. How could any one person make a difference in the wake of such widespread devastation? As responders around the globe scramble to help survivors, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, UMCOR, is prepared to act.

So don’t be fooled by the word committee.

Connection Happens On Wednesday

Join us on Wednesday for all the fun! 

Dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. in Yancey Hall. Cost is $5 Adult, $3 Child, $15 Family. Full time college students and children under 3 eat free.

 

Get Up & Give

The 9th Annual Get Up & Give collection project asks Arkansans to contribute necessities to the children and families in our care. The project runs during the entire 40 days of Lent – now through Thurs., Mar. 29 – and both children and adults, and groups, can participate by donating personal hygiene items, clothes, shoes, school supplies, bedding, funds and other necessities to the Methodist Counseling Clinic in their community.

New Youth Minister Hire

Searcy 1st Welcomes Shane Staton, Youth Minister!

Shane Staton has accepted the position as Minister to Youth and Families with Youth here at Searcy First United Methodist Church. The SPRC has interviewed candidates over the past month and have unanimously and enthusiastically chosen Shane as the right choice to lead our Youth Ministry going forward.
