About Our Worship

Worship is the foundation of who we are at Searcy First as we seek to GLORIFY God. Worship brings glory to God and shapes us for ministry in the world. (For a fun way to learn more about worship click the video link on this page).

Central to understanding worship at Searcy First is the notion that faith is based on God speaking into our lives and us responding. No matter the “style” of worship at Searcy First, worship is rooted in four historic movements.

ENTRANCE

The people of Searcy First come together in the Lord’s name to glorify and praise God for God’s amazing grace and love.

PROCLAMATION AND RESPONSE

At Searcy First the Scriptures are central to who we are. Accordingly, Scriptures are opened in worship through Bible readings, preaching, witnessing, music or other arts and media. And how can we hear God’s word without responding? So at times there will be acts of commitment and faith with offerings of concerns, prayers, gifts, and service for the world and for one another.

THANKSGIVING AND COMMUNION

Holy Communion is the bread for the journey in the Christian life and is celebrated frequently in our services. In services without Communion, thanks are given for God’s mighty acts in Jesus Christ.

SENDING FORTH

The people of Searcy First are sent into ministry in the world with the Lord’s blessing.
Better than reading about it is experiencing it! Come visit us!
