Associate Pastor
wblakeschrepfer@gmail.com

Reverend Blake Schrepfer has been named the new Associate Pastor for Searcy 1st! The Staff-Parish  Relations Committee reviewed Blake’s resume and after prayerful discussion unanimously and enthusiastically accepted the Bishop’s appointment.

Reverend Blake Schrepfer is married to (Searcy’s own) Lauren Wiseman. The Schrepfer’s have a daughter, Emelia.

His native home is Russellville, AR. He is a 2016 graduate of Asbury Seminary and a 2011 graduate of Arkansas State University. He enjoys all sports, fishing, hunting, hiking, kayaking and music.

When asked to list three things he values about pastoral ministry in The United Methodist Church, he lists: 1) Connectional Nature; 2) Prominence of Sacraments and other means of grace; 3) Equipping laity for ministry in the church and community.

Blake was very active in the Wesley Foundation at ASU, playing in the worship band and traveling through northeast Arkansas with the worship team. He has worshipped several times here at Searcy 1st through his Wesley Foundation participation. Blake and Lauren were married in the sanctuary of our church in 2012.

Blake sees himself as highly ecumenical, committed to local missions, effective in youth and children ministries and  sharing the faith with persons of all ages. He says, “I am  excited about working with a church to create vitality and to make disciples of Jesus Christ by: Preaching/teaching Wesleyan theology, intentional discipleship with children and youth, and creating growth opportunities in small groups andncovenant-discipleship groups.”

As we continue to love, support and pray for the Bill Sardin family as they prepare to serve in Hot Springs, let us also offer, now, our prayers and support for the Blake Schrepfer family as they prepare to bid farewell to Calico Rock and move to Searcy.
